Finding The Way Back

The writer and calligrapher: Eman Yehia

There was once upon a time a witch called Kiki, but she's not your typical magical girl where she can use her magic to turn her problems into rainbows. she had to fight through different personal and external obstacles to make a life for herself.

Kiki left home at 13, an age people consider it to be the threshold into the teen years, and she stated her own way full of joy and optimism. She knew full well that she had to find a job and though she was so determined as anybody else to start her search, she found herself smacked across the face with reality, as she found a really beautiful oceanside town but was filled with truely indifferent people, like a police officer trying to detain her for just flying on her broom.

Kiki was still alone and this brought so much pain for her like there was an obligation for an ID to stay at a hotel, so she hadn't found a place to stay at.

And honestly anybody having troubles with finding a job recognizes how discourged and stressed kiki must be in a world indifferent to her struggles.

Thankfully, she met Osono the owner of a bakery all out of a sudden, and Kiki offered help to deliver something the customer has forgotten at the bakery using her flying ability, and Osono was so friendly and amazed by her power as she offered her a rent-free room and networking connections without needing LinkedIn lol,, and this encouraged Kiki to stay for a longer time in this town as she may find someone likes her ability like Osono....

After finding her own business by setting a delivery service using her ability to fly, her job went really well at the beginning but honestly she was lonely and bored, she was looking at the young, carefree kids from the outside, but she was unable to join in with them as Tombo's friends spoke to Kiki quite rudely after a rough delivery in the rain..

She wasn't finding the fulfillment out of living in her dream city and doing her dream job that she had expected. And as Kiki begins to fall into a depression, she suddenly loses her witch powers, she can't talk to her cat Jiji anymore, and she has lost the ability to fly her broom.

Self-doubt was the natural evolution of self-consciousness and that made her thinks that there's something wrong with her. It's possible that the other girls made her feel inferior because she was wearing black as a tradition for all the witches and Kiki began to question herself and tried to understand her maelstrom of emotions.

Kiki met her friend Ursula who was an artist. Ursula told Kiki that she might have a mental block too like her and suggested that she take a mental health break.

Ursula's advice was very relevant as mental block is partially caused by self-doubt, and seriously a mental break allowed Kiki to realize that there's more to herself than just being a witch. But after a deep talk with Ursula about trying to understand one's passions, Kiki began to find her inner strength as the older woman urges her to think about why she loves flying. Ursula's message was so important to anyone else struggling with this kind of anxiety. She advised Kiki to counteract the negativity by rediscovering her purpose in life and understanding her passions.

At the end, Kiki had gained much more on her journey of self-realization. She had gained independence through taming her own broom and she had become a well-rounded person who is more conscious of her gifts. By losing her flying and fighting to get it back, Kiki realized how much she loves to fly and she understood her skill on a deeper level. Not being able to talk to Jiji forced her to come out of her shell and to create a new network of friends and surrogate family.

Finally, be brave and don't ever give up until you're proud of your own journey.

this story is truely inspired from Kiki's delivery service movie which is highly recommended to be honest.
