The Bullying Victim that Fired the Social Media

Nouran El Rady

What if the kid you bullied at school, grew up, and turned out to be the only surgeon who could save your life?

Nobody knows the battles we face in private. We usually share all the positive highlights, we always draw fake smiles and happy faces saying "I am okay". Skipping the painful days to the moment of success, and tell ourselves “let the wind dry the tears, let the light clear the fears.”

Meanwhile, the Australian baby Quaden couldn't bear anymore. He is nine years old, goes to school every morning to have fun and get educated but he gets bullied in return.

“Every single day, something happens. Another episode, another bullying, another taunt, another name-calling “ said his mother Bayles, who added that “I’ve just picked my son up from school, witnessed a bullying episode, rang the principal, and I want people to know – parents, educators, teachers – this is the effect that bullying has.”

Students bully him because of his height. He is born with short stature. The mum, Yarraka Bayles, has been flooded with support after live-streaming a heartbreaking video of her nine-year-old son’s despair who wants to end his life.

In the video, he cries with tears" give me the knife i want to kill myself." You wonder why kids are killing themselves? reports said that Quaden has since been removed from the school and will likely be home-schooled.

People around the world and publications supported him by donating 150 thousand dollars to have a visit to Disneyland. He has also received an outpouring of support from celebrities like Hugh Jackman who recorded a video that went viral in social media saying "Hey Quaden you have got a friend in me body." He also sent a sincere message to the world to be kind and stop bullying because everyone is fighting in his own battle that we know nothing about.

Everyone needs a kind hearted soul to help him or her discover that the world really needs their steps and their presence. At the end of the day, disability awareness should be raised and the discrimination needs to be addressed to save many lives.

Bullying is not going to stop, but we can at least be confident enough to stand up to it.

It is hurtful and it sticks in mind forever. Don't let bullies pull you down, their poison won't spread if you spit it, cut the painful stimuli, attack the snake in the dark by your only weapon of confidence and self esteem.

Songs and Films are great investments for educating kids to respect and behave. Entertainment can be used to direct society to the acceptance ideologies. Films enter every home, people watch them, get attached and start to realize, empathize and change. Many movies like The Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Mean Girls, Bully, Girl Like Her, and The Duff are some examples.

Also many anti-bullying awareness campaigns are raised by UNICEF, safe childhood organizations, human rights campaigns, and fundraising charities.

Differences must be accepted. Racist personalities kindly have to undergo psychological treatment to correct their unacceptable misbehavior towards the poor, the elderly, the handicapped and foreigners. Dwarfs are not comedy material for TV shows, they are ambitious, successful, athletes, famous actors and musicians.

Just remember that when they make fun of you, when they point out your weaknesses, it's always your chance to rise high above. Just believe in yourself and don't let sick creatures destroy your awesomeness.
